TaizÉ Brothers 
in Denver: 

October 12 - 15, 2006

Two brothers from the Taizé community in France will visit Denver, hosted by a wide variety of churches and religious organizations representing many streams and traditions of Christianity.

Thursday, October 12:

A Morning Ecumenical Gathering of Church leaders. This includes Clergy, church staff members, lay leaders, worship leaders and anyone interested in the ministry of the Taizé community.

To be held at:

 Montview Presbyterian Church, 
1980 Dahlia, Denver , CO 80220   
(Corner of Dahlia and Montview Blvd.)

(Includes opening Taizé-style prayer, presentation, interaction and discussion with the Brothers.)

Schedule:

9:00 am: Gathering with light food, coffee and tea.
9:30 am: Prayer in a Taizé style (20 minutes)
10:00 am: Open forum with the brothers
11:30 am: Dismissal  

Thursday afternoon

The Brothers will meet with Denver Archbishop Charles Chaput

Thursday evening

The Brothers will be guests at the Iliff School of Theology

Friday, October 13:

The brothers visit CSU in Fort Collins hosted by St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Saturday, October 14:

"A day at Taizé" for youth age 16 - 18 and young adults age 19 - 29, hosted by Regis University. 

Schedule of the Day at Regis:

8:30 am:         Registration
9:00 am:         Morning Prayer in a Taizé style (chapel)
9:45 am:         Introduction to Taizé & Bible Study lead by the
                        brothers in both English and Spanish (chapel)
10:45 am:      Small group meetings (various locations)
12:15 pm:      Lunch (provided)
1:00 pm:         Midday Prayer in the style of the Taizé
                        community (chapel)
1:30 pm:         Bible Study led by the Brothers in both English &
                        Spanish (chapel)
2:15 pm:         Silence for personal reflection
2:45 pm:         Small Group Meetings (various locations)
4:15 pm:         Move to prayer
4:30 pm:         Evening Prayer in the style of the Taizé
                        community (chapel)
5:30 pm:         Leave for home

Sunday, October 15:

Morning: In keeping with the reconciling ministry of the Taizé community, churches are invited to become part of a cooperative, ecumenical exchange of worship leaders around the city. If your church would like to be part of this unique exchange, please contact Brad Berglund at:  brad@reinventingsunday.com

Evening: A city-wide prayer led by the brothers of Taizé and local musicians in the theatre at Teikyo-Lorretto Heights University, 3001 South Federal Blvd.

6:30 pm: Gather for personal, silent prayer
7:00 pm: Worship and prayer in the style of Taizé
